Account Manager, Client Development
Apparel Practice

  • Position Overview:

    The Account Manager, Client Development is an integral member of the Apparel Commercial team. This role supports a diverse client base in the Sportswear and Denim space, building relationships with our clients, providing them with value-added analysis and insights that will drive revenue. The Account Manager is responsible for handling all day-to-day servicing, assisting in strategic project management and providing insights to strategic accounts.

    Location: This position will be remote (based in New York City or Port Washington, NY).

    Overall Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day account responsibilities such as data access, training on tools, and addressing questions on methodology. Respond to and resolve client identified issues and/or business needs
  • Develop and execute account plans; understand the client's organization and strategies, objectives and challenges. Identify and recommend application of NPD data and insights to meet those objectives
  • Proactively search for interesting data trends and create analyses that engage clients
  • Support Account Team's revenue goals by recognizing and exploring opportunities for client to leverage additional services or products
  • Independently seek out resources within the client and NPD to help resolve client issues
  • Assist in tracking and delivering measurable business results from the partners use of NPD data
  • Assist in troubleshooting data quality issues using the client's internal systems to validate NPD data
  • Build knowledge of the Apparel industries and related categories
  • Maintain Salesforce profile, contacts, revenue opportunities and marketing campaign lists.
  • Manage and develop a direct report
  • Partner with cross-functional departments and teams to ensure success for the business from Operations to Product and Legal teams.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5+years of experience in marketing research or analytics (POS, consumer, custom and/or syndicated research); Experience in fashion industry a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with research data to generate impactful and engaging analyses and presentations
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent in in Marketing, Market Research, Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Merchandising preferred.
  • Strong analytical and writing ability- demonstrated capability to digest diverse data sets and aggregate them into cohesive and succinct stories.
  • A passion for leveraging research to address real world questions.
  • Comfortable presenting in front of a room of key stakeholders, in a virtual environment, and to a larger audience.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn proprietary software/database applications. Strong attention to detail.
  • Expert in all MS Office products- Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Willingness to travel (typically 10%)

    Relationships & Communication

    The ideal candidate is able to build impactful presentations that deliver value to the client while telling a compelling story in a concise and polished manner to a diverse audience. The candidate will be able to effectively understand and build relationships throughout the client's organization . Lastly, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to listen to the customer and appropriately match the customer's needs with NPD's products, services, and be willing to direct the customer to the best solution.

Candidates must possess a "can-do" attitude and be resourceful in problem-solving. They will be detail oriented and demonstrate a strong work ethic. They will be sticklers for accuracy in their own work as well as their colleagues and will be ready to back up their assertions with facts.
