CUMULUS MEDIA | Atlanta, GA, a leader in the radio broadcasting industry, is searching for an Accounting Manager located in our corporate headquarters to support the Director of Accounting in carrying out the responsibilities of the department. This position is responsible for overseeing the network billing and revenue processes, supporting the network sales team, supervising staff accountants, reviewing journal entries and reconciliations and preparing variance analysis. Ideal candidates will possess strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills, written and verbal, as well as outstanding organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage 1-3 direct reports
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
• Perform assigned duties to ensure an accurate, and timely, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close
• Coordinate and execute all month-end close activities based on the close schedule
• Prepare and gather supporting documentation and explanations for monthly financial reporting, budgeting/forecasts, and analysis for Senior Management review and follow up on any open items
• Perform detailed review and analysis of reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, invoices, etc.
• Complete monthly network billing, invoice distribution and recording of revenue working with the sales planning, account executives and operations teams
• Research and apply appropriate GAAP pronouncements, including relevant revenue recognition guidance
• Evaluate current processes for improvement opportunities
• Respond to inquiries from Senior Management, internal and external auditors, regarding financial results and special reporting requests
• Support Director of Accounting with special projects and ad hoc requests
• Manage workload and prioritize job tasks in order to meet deadlines
• Comply with corporate policies and procedures
• Comply with US GAAP, COSO, and SOX in concert with our internal controls
• Interface with management in various departments
• Overtime hours and adherence to a professional dress code are required with this position
• Other duties, as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 4 - 6 years progressive accounting experience, with month-end close experience preferred
• Supervisory experience required
• Strong understanding of GAAP with CPA license preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to be flexible and effectively work with others as a team
• A high degree of drive and ability to produce results/accomplish goals in a fast-paced work environment
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills
• Relocation compensation is not available for this position
