The Role:

This position provides leadership and direction to the organization on procurement strategy and sourcing practices, management of the bid/negotiation/contract process, contract management and compliance and supplier development and management for key relationships. In addition, the role is responsible for oversight (working closely with the A/P Supervisor) of the Accounts Payable team including Travel, Corporate-Card and T&E; invoice and payment processing; problem resolution and processing of manual / exception payments; delivering performance that meets or exceeds defined service levels. This position coordinates with cross-functional leadership, global offices and third party suppliers on maximizing preferred pricing, cost saving and achievement of service level commitments.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day Procurement operations, including monitoring policy. Coordinate and/or manage RFP/RFQ, contract negotiation and Procurement and development activities.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies and plans for sourcing, consolidation, change implementation and management of supplier relations.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Travel teams ensuring delivery of high quality process to internal clients (client-facing teams, general ledger and corporate teams), partners and vendors.
  • Identify procurement and accounts payable best practice gaps and lead the implementation of process and technology solutions.
  • Deliver strategic partnership on financial and accounting operational matters across several functional areas, especially vendor master data management, invoice processing, Concur expense management program, and purchasing and travel-card programs.
  • Team with cross-functional leadership, global offices and others to identify key sourcing and spend management opportunities to achieve preferred pricing and achieve cost saving objectives. Develop and monitor procurement and expenditure policy compliance and resolve exceptions with global offices.
  • Direct all aspects of AmEx Procurement Card (P-Card) and Corporate Card programs.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains Accounts Payable internal control environment in conjunction with SOX leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in related field
  • Minimum seven years of relevant experience, ideally in an international environment
  • Previous supervisory experience with proven experience managing teams and developing individuals.
