Come join our awesome Minnesota Float Team as Life enrichment assistant traveling to our senior care centers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Sleepy Eye and Rochester areas in Minnesota. You can work a minimum of 4 shifts per month or full-time hours. It is up to you!

The Minnesota Float Team is part of Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS) which serves as the Housing and Healthcare affiliate of the Volunteers of America parent organization.

Activities Assistant Job Highlights:

Essentials:

• Coordinate social, recreational, purposeful and spiritual activities to residents
• Assist with planning and scheduling trips and outside activities
• Drive residents to and from activities and appointments (company van)

Required Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. • If operating company vehicle you must be 21 years of age and meet the MVR organization standards.
• Ability to read, understand and follow written and oral instructions; to prepare written reports and documentation.
• Ability to work with residents of varying levels of responsiveness.
• Motor coordination and manual dexterity required in working with craft projects and other resident activities.
• Able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during evenings and weekends for planned activities events.
• Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred.
• Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Preference given to persons who have completed courses in therapeutic recreation.

The Volunteers of America National Services Minnesota Float Team is a team of experienced professionals that assist in the facilities that we serve, such as the Maplewood Care Center, The Homestead at Maplewood, Elder Care Center (Minnetonka), The Homestead at Anoka, The Homestead at Coon Rapids, Sleepy Eye Area Home Health, The Homestead at Rochester and other senior care centers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Area.
