The South Shore Hospital Addiction Consult Clinician works within a multidisciplinary Addiction Medicine Consult Service to provide clinical evidence based treatment including medications to individuals with substance and alcohol use disorders in a hospital setting. This clinician will use the SBIRT (screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment) approach in all work. This is an evidenced based approach to identify clients who use alcohol and other drugs at risk levels with the goal of reducing and preventing negative consequences. This position will also work with the clients to access community resources including placement in short and long term residential treatment and linkages to medication treatment programs. Completes all clinical documentation on-line using EPIC Electronic Health Record System.

The schedule for this position is either 4 - 10 hours shifts (11:00-9:00) or 5 - 8 hour shifts (1:00-9:00).

Required Skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Professional training and experience providing clinical services to program population
  • Experience utilizing Electronic Health Record preferred

Required Experience
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Social Services
  • LADC II, LMHC, LICSW preferred
