JOB SUMMARY

Frostbite, a DFA company,has an immediate job opening for a skilled Refrigeration Maintenance Technician. The Refrigeration Maintenance Technician will ensure the continued operation of machinery and ammonia refrigeration equipment in an electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic capacity by completing planned and unplanned maintenance requirements.

OUR REFRIGERATION TECHNICIANS MAKE:

• $31.52/hr – standard technician
• $36.97/hr – master technician

Requirements

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred. CARO/CIRO or equivalent certifications is a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of industrial refrigeration experience with ammonia or combination of experience and trade school.
• Minimum one year experience in an industrial maintenance role, preferably food and beverage industry.
• Minimum one year experience with one or more technical experiences: Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC and/or HVAC.
• Ability to read, interpret and modify electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Able to diagnose and make repairs to refrigeration systems.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to ammonia refrigeration.
• Experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial ammonia systems.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Must be able to handle basic hand tools.
• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend required for virtually the entire shift; occasionally required to climb or balance.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to work in a cold, wet environment with moderate to high noise volume.
• May experience some exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals or allergens.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
