The Program Management Analyst is a visible and impactful sourcing teamcontributorresponsiblefor the development, implementation and leadership of strategies associated with Toro's component purchases. Leadership of programs/projects involving commodities will includebut are not limited tomanaging supplier relationships, development and implementation of sourcing strategies, negotiating pricing, implementingand administeringcontracts, understanding markets, forecastingpricing trends and leading cross-functional commodity teams.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiate total cost reduction, process improvement projects, and lead cross-functional teams (including supplier representatives) in their implementation
  • Support and/or develop a sourcing strategy for each assigned commodity that incorporates customer requirements, product requirements, market conditions, business risk, and supplier capabilities
  • Communicate on a continuous basis with internal customers to understand business objectives, expectations and specific requirements
  • Serve as an internal resource regarding supplier new products, capabilities, technologies and sourcing processes
  • Manage scope by coordinating and responding to requests for changes from original specifications
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market conditions, trends, sources of supply and supplier capabilities for materials, equipment and services within assigned commodities
  • Engage in sourcing negotiations with all levels of supplier contacts to establish terms of contracts, memorandum of understanding and schedule agreements
  • Provide work direction to buyer(s) as needed in alignment with the projects
  • Prepare communications for management, business units and others, including project status reports, project time/budget reports, and other project-related documents
  • Participate in project presentations or project status reviews to senior management
  • Build strong business relationships by keeping in close contact with key end-user representatives to ensure technologies are providing value to customers
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle
  • Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by management
  • Any special tasks, assignments, and projects as assigned

JOB DIMENSIONS:
  • Work is project-oriented and project tasks/projects plans must be defined by employee
  • Manage a cross functional team of individuals who search for creative ways to elevate the capabilities of quality parts to meet business needs, while ensuring cost savings
  • Understand company goals and practices and apply them when resolving a variety of problems
  • Receives only general instructions on new work
  • Visible role that requires signification interaction and influence with commodity managers, sourcing leaders, engineers, business units and operations leadership
  • Typical office environment as it pertains to lighting, temperature, and noise level when in administrative / operations offices.
  • Able to travel both domestically and internationally, up to approximately 10-20%.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and to handle other computer components.

SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 yearssupply chain experience, sourcing technical, electronic and mechanical equipment-related components or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years project management experience to include successful management of projects from inception to conclusion
  • Must have demonstrated experience in: negotiation, forecasting, leading cross-functional teams, understanding markets and collaborating with engineers
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as mechanical and technical capabilities
  • Assemblies and mechanical production purchasing preferred
  • Highly self-motivated, ability to work under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple objective concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to analyze situations and accurately take effective actions
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Suite, SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain composure during high stress situations, remaining focused on the ultimate objective
  • Capacity to work independently as well as within a team-oriented, collaborative environment
