ASR's State and Local practice is seeking entry to mid-level analytic consultants to support ongoing project operations and proprietary software development for our state and local government customers. As a consultant, you will work collaboratively with clients and colleagues to solve business problems using both quantitative (e.g., data engineering, data science) and qualitative methods (e.g., process improvement, management consulting). This position is primarily remote, but residency in the greater Phoenix, AZ area is preferred.
Position Requirements

• Conduct data mining and exploration to identify patterns and trends in client data
• Clean, manipulate, and compile data to create reusable analytic datasets
• Design and build analytic models
• Produce high quality code to ensure maintainability
• Perform testing, debugging, and quality control on work products
• Contribute to and maintain technical documentation
• Communicate methodology and findings to audiences at various levels of technical understanding
• Contribute to development of proprietary software applications

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other quantitative field, or equivalent experience
• 0-4 years of professional experience
• 1+ years of experience using data mining methods, such as clustering or anomaly detection, to understand data patterns and select appropriate predictive techniques in an academic or professional setting
• 1+ years of experience designing and building mathematical models using a variety of techniques, such as logistic regression, decision tree, or random forest, in an academic or professional setting
• 1+ years of experience with statistical programming using tools such as Python, R, or SQL in an academic or professional setting
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work well in a team environment

Strongly Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience with an object-oriented programming language, such as JavaScript or Python
• Experience with NoSQL databases, preferably multi-model such as MarkLogic, ArangoDB, OrientDB, etc.
• Experience with Apache NiFi
