Position number: 20002485 Augusta University is seeking a Congenital Heart Surgeon to join a growing practice within Georgia and South Carolina. Candidates should be board-certified in Congenital Heart Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or equivalent. Opportunities are available for research support for candidates with appropriate experience and interest. The Medical College of Georgia, founded in 1828, is the 13th-oldest medical school in the United States. It is the 8th largest public medical school in the country, with 260 students currently matriculating per class. MCG is the medical school of the state of Georgia with 200 volunteer surgeons serving as faculty throughout our regional campuses. AU Health, the primary teaching hospital affiliated with MCG, is a 450-bed academic medical center positioned for significant growth in the next five years. The Georgia Cancer Center is a Commission on Cancer Academic Comprehensive Cancer Program offering multi-disciplinary care across a range of clinical disciplines, as well as research opportunities across the translational spectrum. The Department of Surgery will prioritize the development of innovative approaches to surgical education and health systems research as we execute on our tripartite mission over the next five years. Required Qualifications

• Board certified in Congenital Heart Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or equivalent
• Three to five years of experience is required
• Independence with STAT I and II index surgical cases
• Independence with overall critical care patient management
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia.
• Must be an innovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence.
• Interest in clinical outcomes research
