The Department of Student Involvement & Service / LEAD is seeking an Assistant Director, SAI - Boca Raton, FL.

The Assistant Director for Student Activities and Involvement will report to the Associate of Student Activities and Involvement and will provide leadership in the operation, facilitation and growth of the Council of Student Organizations (COSO) through the participation in retreats, adviser training, student selection process, weekly program planning meetings, one-on-one meetings, and student organization budget allocation process. Assist in the administration and interpretation of laws, rules, policies, and procedures pertaining to Registered Student Organizations (RSO). Responsible for the training and development of student organization leaders and advisors through training series and workshops throughout the year.

Summary of responsibilities include:

• Advise Graduate & Professional Student Association: Graduate Research Travel Grant process, Budget and administrative support for Graduate & Professional Student Organizations. Serve as a SA liaison and support for graduate college student signature events such as: Graduate Research Day, 3Minute Thesis, etc.
• Assist in the direction of the commuter student programming and engagement. Assists in ensuring that goals and objectives for the department, university and Board of Regents are communicated and achieved. Advise the iCommute Student Organization. Assist in the administration and interpretation of laws, rules, policies, and procedures. May counsel students in social, cultural, health, and psychological areas affecting student development outside the academic programs.
• Effective advisement of individuals and student groups calls for sensitivity and skill in providing an arena for co-curricular activities and leadership development programs for the student body. Initiative, patience, and diligence are essential in successfully meeting the needs of the position.
