The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of South Carolina (USC) Arnold School of Public Health (ASPH; www.sph.sc.edu) invites applications for a nine-month Assistant Professor tenure-track faculty position with an anticipated start date of August 2024. The position will be responsible for developing and maintaining an independent, extramurally funded program of research in the areas of aphasia and longitudinal studies of aging. We seek a candidate who will also collaborate with other investigators in COMD who have expertise in aphasia, dementia, and hearing. The faculty member will also be responsible for teaching a distance education course in stuttering and other clinical courses in speech-language pathology within the department. Finally, they will contribute service to the department, university, and their field.The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders or closely related discipline (e.g., Psychology or Human Development) and have completed at least twenty-four months of postdoctoral research experience by the beginning date of employment. Research areas of interest should include but are not limited to aphasia, gerontology, stuttering, and longitudinal research design. The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders hosts an active and collaborative research faculty, with existing strengths in child language and literacy, aphasia, neurodevelopmental disorders, motor speech disorders, and neurodegenerative disease.
