Position Description :The Department of Health and Human Performance is seeking applicants to fill two (2) non-tenure-line position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction to teach in the undergraduate and graduate public health programs at Texas State University. Applicants with expertise in all areas related to public health, community health, health promotion, or health education are invited to apply.
This position is a non-tenure-line, nine-month faculty of instruction position with a renewable five-year contract subject to enrollment needs and annual reappointment review. This position is remote-work eligible. The individual selected for this position will be expected to teach graduate level and undergraduate courses, as departmental needs require. Other responsibilities will include service to the department and the university, community outreach, mentoring graduate students, and general academic and career advising and assistance.
The Department of Health and Human Performance, with over 40 full-time faculty, serves approximately 2,400 students seeking undergraduate and graduate degrees in Athletic Training, Exercise & Sports Science, Public Health, Recreation & Sport Management, and Recreational Therapy. Texas State University also offers a comprehensive employee wellness program led by an interdisciplinary research team that provides opportunities for collaborative studies.
The public health program offers a BS in Public Health, an MS in Public Health Education and Promotion, and is currently on-track to launch an interdisciplinary MPH with concentrations in community health & behavior and health policy & management in fall 2024.
