In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, AstraZeneca has partnered with world-class institutions to discover and develop a vaccine and a long-acting antibody for the prevention of COVID-19. This associate director role is an opportunity for you to help launch AstraZeneca's long-acting monoclonal antibody, EVUSHELD, in the US to address one of the greatest health crises in a generation.

EVUSHELD is a long-acting monoclonal antibody authorized for pre-exposure prophylaxis of COVID-19 for certain immunocompromised people who may not respond to a COVID-19 vaccine.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, deliver results and contribute to a positive team culture. In this role you will work to raise awareness of the unmet need for immunocompromised people who may benefit from protection in addition to a vaccine and develop impactful resources to educate HCPs on the value of EVUSHELD.

What you'll do

  • Lead the scientific communications activities:
    • Working closely with the director for commercial alignment, HCP director and medical to develop ad board content and gain impactful insights
    • Develop an EVUSHELD speaker's deck for use in peer-to-peer engagements
    • Develop a congress strategy aligned to HCP strategy
  • Agency management - working closely across the brand team to ensure agency objectives are met and assets are delivered according to brand needs.
  • Omni-channel execution - ensuring timely and aligned messages are delivered to HCPs and consumers
  • Develop an annual learning plan - working closely with the marketing directors and the insights director to identify areas of interest across HCP and consumer for market research
  • Field training strategy - review the needs of the brand in anticipation of field wave onboarding and work with the marketing manager to create and update materials
  • EVUSHELD brand launch operations - monitor critical launch milestones and report to cross functional team. This will also include fact sheet update strategy, representing the brand's point of view and prioritizing assets for the AZAP team.
  • Media planning and execution - working with the AZ media team and marketing directors to determine most effective media channels and ensure on time delivery of assets aligned to strategy.

Cross-functional coordination

Following the development of tactics aligned to business strategy, the associate director will be responsible for presenting promotional campaigns and resources for medical, legal, and regulatory review to ensure compliance with AstraZeneca standards. The associate director will be responsible for engaging the appropriate cross-functional teams (i.e. business managers and digital execution teams) to ensure alignment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years Pharmaceutical or healthcare experience
  • 3 years of pharmaceutical marketing and promotions experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience presenting promotional tactics for medical, legal, and regulatory review
  • Vendor/agency management
  • Experience with congress planning and execution
  • Market research experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in business, marketing or the sciences
  • Digital marketing development / execution
  • Experience with marketing monoclonal antibody, specialty, and/or biologic therapy
  • Located in the Wilmington, DE area
