Typical Day in the Life
A typical day as an Associate Financial Advisor might include the following:

  • Maintains the ongoing retention of a defined group of existing clients.
  • Prepares for and leads ongoing client review meetings and supports the delivery of ongoing service to existing clients.
  • Conducts portfolio analysis and monitoring and identifies and delivers to changing advice needs.
  • Compiles and analyzes client data to assist in developing financial plans.
  • Assists in the development of complex and highly customized financial portfolios for high-net-worth individuals.
  • Assists with investment recommendations based on research, including rebalancing and asset allocation.
  • Articulates the story of the practice and identifies ideal qualified prospects.
  • Participates in client meetings with financial advisor to develop client acquisition skills and to support the conversion of prospects to leads.
  • Responds to advice-related client calls, provides insurance quotes, and assembles customized proposals for clients and prospective clients.
  • Assists in building, tracking, and maintaining a prospect pipeline.
  • Works with client relationship manager and/or client service associate on client documentation, client meeting preparation, outgoing client courtesy calls, and processes.
  • Intakes applications and forms, supports special projects, and assists members of certain practice models when needed.
  • Participates in regular team meetings and supports the financial advisor on various projects and client relationships.
  • Maintains strong compliance documentation.
  • Fully utilizes all technological systems.

Who You Are
  • You have well-rounded knowledge of financial planning principles and software applications.
  • You have strong relationship management skills, reliability, organization and is deadline-driven.
  • You have a positive attitude and sincere willingness to constantly learn and grow.
  • You have ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
  • You have ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.
  • You have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
  • You are proficient with computers, Microsoft Office and using various software packages.
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business or a related field.
  • You have 1-3 years of experience preferred in financial planning or Tax experience.
  • Investment Advisor Representative Series 65 or 66 highly preferred.
  • Registered Representative Series 7 required.
  • Licensed Life and Health Insurance Professional preferred.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) or other designations a plus
Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
