The AstraZeneca Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship site delivering innovative, life changing oral solid medicines. At the site we formulate and pack OSD tablets and capsules for over 60+ markets. The Mt Vernon site is complex, the largest AZ production site in the US with over 700+ employees. We are located in the southwest corner of the state of Indiana, approximately 15 miles from Evansville, Indiana - the third largest city in the state. The Mt. Join our dynamic Operations team as an Automation Technician, where you will provide technical support for Packing, Formulation, and Facilities/Utilities assets. This role is pivotal in investigating and correcting plant floor control system issues and identifying improvement opportunities. As an automation subject matter expert, you will also be responsible for broad skilling maintenance and operations personnel.

Accountabilities:
As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for supporting production, facility, and utility assets and related automation/control systems. Your role will involve executing changes to controls, configurations, and hardware, contributing to the development of high-performance Maintenance teams, and training manufacturing and maintenance mechanics/technicians on operation of installed electronics, controls, and instrumentation. You will also identify and act on Continuous Improvement opportunities, support obsolescence remediation efforts, and author standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Essential Skills/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical diagrams and electronic schematics
- Proven ability to program, troubleshoot, and decipher automation control devices
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications

Desirable Skills/Experience:
- An Associate's Degree in a technical field or completion of an Apprenticeship Program
- Experience with Rockwell/Allen Bradley
- Experience providing client support or customer service
- Experience working in a Pharmaceutical GMP validated environment
