Job Description Summary:
Community Health Center, Inc. As a Centralized Biller at Community Health Center, Inc., you will:
  • Perform daily all aspects of billing Medical, Dental, and Behavioral Health claims
  • Responsible for entering codes and reconciling charges in a timely and accurate manner
  • Retain the required billing process for each discipline
  • Perform necessary rebilling or adjusting on accounts
  • Organize work load to achieve a high level of productivity
  • Cross train within department to provide coverage when necessary
  • Verify commercial insurance eligibility for an assigned site daily
  • Keeps management informed of matters regarding charge entry
  • Trend and escalate billing issues to the appropriate supervisory level
  • Maintain and respect the confidentiality of PHI (Protected Health Information) in accordance with insurance collection guidelines, corporate policy and all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) mandates. Candidate will have access to PHI based on the HIPAA minimum necessary standards
  • Adhere to all corporate compliance mandates and guidelines.
  • Follow internal protocols regarding departmental communications.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary in dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
Additional Specifications
  • In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, CDT-3 and HCPCS coding; insurance billing rules including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid, Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, Connecticare, UHC and self-pay
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and electronic e-mail systems
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication and telephone skills
