Job Description Summary
We are seeking a candidate to serve as a Business Architect to interpret and contextualize strategy for operational needs, develop specific artefacts such as business capability maps and value streams to help bridge the gap between strategy and execution, and helps streamline and rationalize the IT enablement process. In addition to developing specific deliverables, views, and viewpoints, a business architect synthesizes and synergies the work of others drawing from disciplines such as strategy development, business analysis, process management, operations, and systems analysis.
Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Enterprise Architect & Americas Business partner to architect and align business strategy with current & future technical programs and standards
  • Create and maintain business capability, data, process, and technology inventories. Work with multiple teams to gather and document the structure of the business and technology landscape
  • Document business capability model along maturity / optimization framework to drive enablement of the longer-term roadmap
  • Support the strategic planning process by providing input to the scope definition of strategic initiatives leveraging capabilities, creating capability heatmaps to provide visibility to impacts, dependencies, overlaps and opportunities.
  • Works closely with Domain architects and leaders to develop domain roadmaps
  • Works closely with solution/technical architects to deliver business architecture artifacts needed for End-to-End Architecture & Solution Architecture Approach deliverables
  • Presents recommendations and solutions clearly and concisely and can focus on key points to portray the intended message or purpose
  • Advocate and drive adoption of "best practices" to ensure standardization of business architecture outputs across the enterprise
  • Participates in enterprise portfolio investment strategies by assessing and rationalizing proposed enterprise capabilities
  • Effectively manage priorities, deliverables, and timelines with little need for escalation
  • Integrates knowledge of the enterprise function's or business segment's overarching strategy in leading programs and projects within one or more areas of expertise
  • Assist with coordinating and facilitating the community of application professionals within C&W
  • Assist with architecture support to the business and TDS teams and initiatives on application architecture and technologies
  • Engage with stakeholders to determine how enterprise platforms enable organizational business strategies and functions.
  • Assess and adapt Architecture Frameworks to operational processes, business process, services, capabilities, systems, and data views to meet program objectives.
  • Analyze enterprise business, systems and applications, and technology environments in the context of meeting business strategy
  • Assist and contribute to an integrated suite of key EA products, including current and target EA roadmaps, and the Fractal product that has been custom built to meet the EA mission.

  • Demonstrable understanding of development processes and agile methodologies
  • Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with team members
  • Successful interaction with teams in an on/offshore model
  • Degree in IT, Engineering, natural sciences, business IT degree or in any quantitative discipline a plus

Knowledge & Experience:
  • 3+ years' experience as a Technical/Solution Architect
  • Business Analyst experience a plus
  • 5+ years' accumulative experience
  • Strong creativity and critical thinking skills
  • Good understanding of and ability to discuss cloud architecture and principles of modern platforms including SaaS, PaaS, multi-tenancy, multi-tiered infrastructure, etc.
  • Experience gathering and analysis business requirements; documenting their technical implementation
  • Good understanding of enterprise application integration technologies as well as common EA topics such as person-based journeys, process orchestration, master data management, analytics and insights, artificial intelligence, etc.
  • Good understanding of security processes, standards & issues involved in multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications
  • Good communication skills in creating and maintaining technical documentation
