Are you our next Capital Project Engineer?

The capital project engineer will be responsible for managing projects as assigned within the department. The engineer will also support production and maintenance by working with Operations and other support groups to achieve the strategic priorities of Mosaic. This role will be primarily focused on asset sustaining projects within chemical processing sites. Work location may vary between a number of local sites depending on demand. Project scopes may include acid processing vessels, rotating equipment, material conveyance, water management, structural steel, civil work and equipment design and fabrication.

What will you do?

  • Preliminary or detailed project scoping, engineering design, scheduling, cost estimating, procurement, supervision, and construction management.
  • Project execution and management: scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, contractor management; ensure projects follow Mosaic' capital process management.
  • Engineering design (developing engineering work packages for projects, managing Engineering firms, reviewing deliverables)
  • Procurement activities - collaborate with Procurement Group in developing scope of works, preparing requests for quotes and proposals (RFQ/RFP's), establishing list of potential bidders, conducting pre-bid meetings, clarifying bidder's questions, evaluating bids, writing purchase requisitions, and reviewing/approving invoices.
  • Technical/personal development and coaching others (contractors, trades, training courses, etc.)

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following:

Engineer II
  • Bachelor's degree required, major inEngineering: Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical preferred.
  • 2+ years of related experience. (related experience may consist of engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management)
Engineer III
  • Bachelor's degree required, major inEngineering: Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical preferred.
  • 4+ years of related experience. (related experience may consist of engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management)
Engineer Sr
  • Bachelor's degree required, major inEngineering: Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical preferred.
  • 8+ years of related experience. (related experience may consist of engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management)
Engineer Lead
  • Bachelor's degree required, major inEngineering: Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical preferred.
  • 10+ years of related experience. (related experience may consist of engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management)

Required for ALL Levels:
  • Must have knowledge in: MS Office suite, Engineering software, SAP/Maximo, Fieldglass; ability to interpret & understand Primavera P6 & Microsoft Project Schedules
  • P.E. and/ or PMP certifications preferred
  • Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others
  • Able to lift approximately 0-25 lbs. occasionally
  • Able to climb stairs and work at various heights
  • Able to distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns or materials
  • Able to hear, with or without correction
  • Able to read, write and understand basic English
  • Able to see, with or without correction
  • Able to use fine hand motor skills
  • Able to wear a respirator

Bartow (Union)

The Mosaic Bartow facility is a 10,000-acre facility whose operations began in 1925. Currently, there are approx. 360 employees that support the Bartow facility activities. These activities include the production of phosphate fertilizers, electrical power and fluoridation ingredients. Finished products, such as Diammonium Phosphate (DAP), Monoammonium Phosphate (MAP), MicroEssentials and Fluorosilicic Acid (FSA) are shipped out by rail car.
