Guest Services is now hiring for Catering/Events Attendant at Doheny Beach.

We are looking to build our catering team at Doho Cafe located at Doheny State Beach. We are looking for experienced catering servers that are hardworking, easy going who can manage an event by themselves, as well as, with a team. We are the only business that is allowed to cater inside the park so we are looking to staff up for the Spring/Summer season. We are looking for individuals that want to take care of guests like they would at their own BBQ. We need people who want to work all the time and also individuals that are looking to be on-call when we have multiple and larger events. If hanging out at the beach and giving great, attentive service at a \"Backyard BBQ\" is your vibe then we want to meet you and see if you would make a great fit for the team.

We are looking for a high energy, community focused candidate who is a looking to join a TEAM of positive, fun, uplifting, and hardworking people. We are focusing on rebuilding the café that is on the beach at Doheny in Dana Point. We thrive in delivering high quality food and drinks to our local community and to those who come to visit.

This position pays $16.00-35.00/hour

JOB SUMMARY

The Catering/Event Attendant sets up, breaks down and cleans up catered events. The Catering/Event Attendant must be able to provide ongoing cleaning and service to clientele.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greet customers in a polite, positive manner. Anticipate customers' needs and respond promptly.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned area or catered event.
  • Set up, monitor, refresh, and break-down catered event according to group requirements and management direction.
  • Restock items for next service. Properly store all reusable items.
  • Resolve customer issues, ensuring customer satisfaction. Alert management when needed.
  • Maintain awareness of safety issues, and report them immediately to your manager.
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
  • Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
  • Strong sanitation habits.
  • Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for the entire work day.
  • Climbing steps regularly.
  • Withstanding temperature extremes in freezer, refrigerator walk-in and grill areas.
  • Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
  • Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in fast-paced kitchen.
  • Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
EQUIPMENT USED
  • Coffee equipment- grinders, brewers, etc.
  • Commercial kitchen equipment.
