What we need:

  • Oversee the entire sample SKU life cycle within responsible customer channel from new style launch through phase out and drop. Executing pieces of the go-to-market strategy as it relates to physical samples and display packages. A Channel Specialist is the primary focal within the Samples Organization focused on the designated customer group (back orders, shipment performance, production plans, and service level improvements). The Channel Specialist succeeds when their channel succeeds!

What you'll do:

  • Validate and request updates as product changes occur or go to market strategy changes to Samples Master Data Team for the construction details in the sample Bill of Materials; including labels, cards, decks, blankets, etc. and custom projects for hard and/or soft surface product categories.
  • SKU management including communicating to Samples Master Data Team flagging SKUs to allow sales, no longer sampled and/or flagging as dropped., insuring production scheduling and shipment performance of designated channel.
  • Proofread for accuracy mass-produced printed materials that will be distributed throughout the USA and other countries.
  • Actively implement best practices created by you, your peers or suggested by your Customer (Channel) that enable better performance of the entire team and organization.
  • Create and maintain sample project tracking grids as needed and produce reports to track KPI's and measurement against departmental goals.
  • Meet directly with Product Team, Sales Teams, and Brand Marketing to ensure their Samples are set up correctly and by given deadlines. Continuously striving to make performance visible to your Customer.
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external Customers, Vendors, Sales, Manufacturing, Pricing, Marketing, Shipping, Quality and Inventory Control as needed to insure the best possible experience for designated customer group.
  • Send specifications, testing and warranty information to customers and sales and serve as Point of Contact for customers to resolve complaints about returns, order errors or any other concerns. Providing a high level of accountability, ownership and visibility to sample status within the channel.
  • Proactively provide information, status, and if necessary, a recovery plan for your Customer for relevant launches/project/packages.
  • Contribute to weekly launch or project status calls for your channel; providing key updates and status to milestones and stage gates.
  • Ownership of merchandising packages within your channel of responsibility including managing their contents, communicating customer demand to your corresponding planner and monitoring when SKU's are available for order, properly priced in the system.
  • Ownership of loading product demand into IBP system for designated channel merchandising samples.
  • Active communication and partnership with your peers and colleagues where there is SKU / Package overlap among channels and proactively working together to ensure collective sample needs are met; not just your channel

What you have:

  • 4 year College degree preferred
  • Must be proficient in PC Computer Skills and using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and report data in a concise, accurate, well-organized form.

  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with internal product/brand management and external customers/vendors
  • Strong bias for Customer (Sales/Product) satisfaction
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly effective level of organization and attention to detail with accuracy and minimal human error
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member to form positive working relationships
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with ever changing priorities
