Position Overview

The Novelis Global Information Technology/Digital team is seeking a Chief Enterprise Architect to lead and advance our Enterprise Architecture strategy. The role reports to the SVP and Chief Information Officer. This key role will be responsible for helping transform technology and stay ahead of the needs of the business. An innovative technologist at heart, the Chief Architect will have the ability to understand the business needs and leverage emerging trends in technology in order to craft a revised technology roadmap for the organization. The Chief Architect will lead a team of architects and help to shape the future technology roadmap of Novelis by working closely with our Sr. IT Leaders and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes the enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap, while gaining buy-in from business leaders and the executive team.
  • Drives the modernization and transformation of the existing IT architecture to a robust and \"future proof\" technology stack.
  • Fosters strong collaboration and serve as trusted technical adviser to the CIO, Sr. IT and Business leaders
  • Develops and executes efficient processes for technology selection and application rationalization, across the enterprise
  • Develops an innovative technology roadmap and architecture strategy that acts as an enabler to the company's business objectives under the 4 strategic Digital Journey pillars of Customer Experience, MFG/SC Excellence, Employee Experience/Backoffice Business Process Excellence and Product Development Excellence
  • Drives the execution of the architecture strategy and creates true business value.
  • Acts as a critical enabler of initiatives related to business growth, digital transformation, modernization, and enterprise strategy.
  • Coaches and develops solution architects and serves as technology SME for the teams responsible for solution delivery globally

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, management information systems, operations research, etc.)
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • 20+ years of IT experience with at least 15 years of enterprise architecture experience (previous experience as Enterprise Architect, Chief Architect or Chief Technologist)
  • Deep understanding of every aspect of enterprise architecture, including enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, data, cloud and the role of newer technology areas (i.e., Machine Learning) and their potential implications and roles in driving the overall IT strategy. Knowledge of technology concepts and implementation methods covering API architecture, next-generation computing, big-data analytics and cloud platforms.
  • Deep expertise in two or more technology domains (network/infrastructure, collaborations, cloud, data, business applications/middleware, cybersecurity)
  • Next-generation technology roadmap definition: Experience driving critical technology choices, evaluating new technology solutions and identifying a path to transition legacy systems. A track record of working on next-generation technologies, including exposure to innovations in platforms, agile delivery, cloud, industry 4.0 applications, data and infrastructure - ideally, gained in a large, complex business where technology is an enabler.
  • Technology-driven transformation of products: Demonstrated ability to leverage technology to create innovative and scalable solutions, as the company transforms and expands. Able to work with product leaders and influence business and product outcomes through technology.
  • Previous Experience leading complex technology infrastructure and/or application projects: Experience leading a very complex and large-scale technology infrastructure or application projects is critical. Ability to influence key business and technology stakeholders to deliver a technology roadmap that stays ahead of the business roadmap is essential.
  • Extensive background and operational experience with architectural engagements, familiarity with major industry products and frameworks, a deep comprehension of industry standards and implementation techniques with a proven track record of leading modernization using products and services delivery.
  • Experience with architectural artifact (knowledge repository) and transitional roadmap development, system design, software prototyping, team mentoring, and support of business case development.
  • Expert knowledge in web standards, ITIL, ERP, MES, SaaS, Cloud infrastructure
  • Experience working and influencing in a globally matrixed organization
  • Strong communication skills - ability to influence and effectively deliver presentations and concepts to several levels of the organization
  • Availability to effectively work with teams in multiple time zones (North America, Europe, Asia, South America)
  • Ability to travel occasionally and be on-site at the Atlanta Headquarters as required by company's hybrid work policies

Preferred Qualifications:
  • M.S. or M.B.A
  • TOGAF Certification or equivalent

Novelis' Global Corporate Headquarters is located in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta Georgia and employs approximately 250 people. It is co-located with Novelis' North America regional office which employs approximately 225 people.
