Position Information: DescriptionThe Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education program in the Department of Education, Health and Behavior Studies is seeking a full time (1.0 FTE) Clinical Assistant Professor starting August 16, 2022.  The Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education program is housed in the University of North Dakota’s College of Education and Human Development.  The program currently has a core of 2 faculty.  Degrees offered include a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education with two separate tracks – Public Health Education and School Health Education.  Degree options are available in both face-to-face and online delivery formats.  A minor in Public Health is also offered.  Faculty proactively engage in and support ongoing university- and community-based health and wellness initiatives, including collaborative efforts with Grand Forks Public Health, Altru Health System, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Human Nutrition Research Center, and the university’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences, among others.Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will serve as a Public Health Education Assistant Special Appointment 9-month faculty member, with primary responsibilities in teaching, advising, and service/outreach, on-campus and online.  The successful candidate will teach key undergraduate courses in public health education, develop liaisons with local and regional agencies for student experiential learning and internship opportunities, and provide meaningful service to the program, college, university and community. The Candidate must be available to work on campus in-person and online for teaching. Summer teaching and service opportunities may also be available with an additional contract.  Minimum Requirements

  • Earned doctorate (PhD, DrPH, or equivalent degree) in public/community health or health behavior. 
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified in Public Health (CPH); Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) desired.
  • Evidence of or potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
  • Prior experience in online course development and/or delivery. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues within and outside the Public Health Education program.
  • Experience working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students. 
Minimum Hiring Salary$60,000 + annually, Dependent on experience and qualificationsStart Date
