We are currently accepting resumes for the position of Communications Engineer III (Data)

Principal Purpose of Position:

  • Leads enterprise based work initiatives and projects. Works with project managers to coordinate and plan project tasks and resources.
  • Develops enhanced production monitoring and additional capability.
  • Defines improvements that increase system reliability and performance.
  • Does architecture, design & planning to meet business and technical requirements for integrated solutions.
  • Performs availability planning and analysis for a variety of platforms and environments.
  • Recommends & implements changes/enhancements for improved systems availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Develops, maintains, recommends, documents, and supports tools and back-end utilities to provide capacity planning management.
  • Identifies ways improve team or technology by enhancing or automating processes.
  • Provides Level 3 production support and assists with advanced troubleshooting and problem management.
  • Ensures adherence to security requirements. Makes recommendations to improve security and participates in investigations as needed.
  • Participates in the design and implementation of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Ensures compliance and contributes to policies, procedures and standards.
  • Provides Level 3 production support and assists with advanced troubleshooting and problem management.
  • Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
  • Related industry certification a plus


Relevant Work Experience:
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement IP-based networks and solve complex network problems as they relate to multiple business applications and voice-over-IP.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in deploying and maintaining data networking systems including routers, switches, firewalls, secure WiFi, and load balancing platforms.
  • Experienced in implementing multiple layer 3 protocols, especially OSPF and BGP.
  • Well versed in defining and implementing security standards across private and public IP networks.
  • Seasoned in interacting with network service providers and equipment vendors to ensure timely deployment of private and public services, with the ability to drive the resolution of problems when they occur.
  • Carrier Technologies: MPLS, SONET, T1/T3, Ethernet, SDWAN
  • Data Networking: TCP/IP, SNMP, RMON, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, DNS, DHCP, QOS, STP, VLAN, VPN, VoIP
  • Data Network Hardware and related operating systems: Cisco routers, switches and firewalls; Palo Alto firewalls; HP Procurve switches; Aruba wireless systems, F5 load balancers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Five + years proven experience supporting enterprise voice/data networks required.
  • Cisco CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, certification is a plus.
  • Must be able to work in a 24 hour on-call capacity.
