We're looking for an experienced, creative, energetic and passionate communications professional to support the client retention initiatives of the Retirement & Investment Solutions practice of CBIZ. CBIZ helps our clients navigate the complexities of developing a group health and welfare strategy.

The communications specialist is responsible for helping execute projects designed to support and retain clients. This role is integral to supporting the day-to-day functions of the client service professionals within the practice. The ideal candidate works well both individually and in a team environment, enjoys learning new tasks and skills, has a positive attitude, is detail-oriented with strong design and writing skills, and is self-motivated. The position will work collaboratively with client service and marketing leadership to create communication programs, design communication collateral, deploy training and develop client service templates. This role reports to the Chief of Staff and works directly with the division marketing department.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Partner with marketing to leverage existing and/or develop new client service collateral to drive client experience and retention.
  • Write, edit and format client service materials, including handouts, presentations, videos and other documents to be client-centric and tailored to client service team and compliance guidelines.
  • Lead focused projects in both digital outlets (website, video, email, etc.) and physical collateral (handouts, presentations, etc.)
  • Manage coordination and timely execution of projects, including setting, tracking and meeting deadlines, facilitating communication between project team leaders, and bringing project teams together into a cohesive whole.
  • Serve as a connector between client service, marketing, and compliance teams to ensure that client service materials are created and implemented.
  • Advise division on standard processes to be followed in regards to client service materials. Assist local offices by sharing best practices and consulting on client service experience.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field preferred.
  • Understands financial services terminology or ability to gain knowledge of financial services related products/terminology.
  • Excellent computer skills with: Microsoft Office Suite, including Publisher, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in Adobe Creative Cloud with a demonstrated proficiency in Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with video creation, Google Analytics, marketing automation tools (such as Pardot) and survey tools (such as Qualtrics).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interface with all levels of management, staff, clients and outside business contacts.
  • Ability to accurately prioritize projects and meet required deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Shows initiative to continue to learn, grow, and expand skills as necessary.
  • Ability to facilitate internal training on current programs and systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3 to 5 years of related marketing or communications experience.
  • Experience with CRMs, Adobe Creative Cloud, and the ability to quickly learn new platforms.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, thorough, and accurate with a strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Advanced customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, meet deadlines and take instruction from multiple sources.
  • Proactive decision-maker with the ability to see the big picture.
