Elsevier Clinical Solutions - Contracts Manager

Position Description: The Contracts Manager is vital to Elsevier's contracting process and financial health. The Contracts Manager role supports the execution of Elsevier Clinical Solutions Sales Operations strategies while delivering operational excellence. The role involves contract negotiations, project management, and requires an acute ability to focus on details across multiple tasks. This is an opportunity where you can suggest and make improvements that impacts the way Elsevier negotiates and builds relationships both internally and externally.

Job Responsibilities:
• Leads complex contract negotiations and discussions, performs contract management and customer contact activities as necessary to provide for proper contract fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, sales requirements and customer specifications
• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and taking calculated risks when making decisions
• Translates organizational client business needs into contracts structure
• Works closely with internal business owners, legal and sales teams to draft, review, edit, and analyze terms and conditions for use within contract templates
• Serves as point of escalation for contract issues
• Identifies, manages, coordinates and collaborates internally on department projects to continuously improve the efficiency of customer contracting and order entry processes, including automation initiatives
• Supports the selection and on-boarding of new staff through candidate reviews and the interview process
• Assists with proposal development and responses
• Other duties as assigned

• Experience in legal contract review and customer negotiations
• Degree relevant to contract law, finance and/or business administration (Juris Doctor preferred but not required) with a minimum of 6-years Contracting experience or other combination of education, training and experience.
• Effective interpersonal skills and a strong team player
• Strong work ethic and commitment to overall success of Elsevier
• Possess strong computer, analytical and organizational skills
• Knowledge of the North American Healthcare industry is preferred, but not required
• Expertise with CRM and financial systems, Siebel and Salesforce CRM experience is preferred
• Travel requirements approximately 10% overnight, as needed
