RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Controller in Tarrytown, NY.Summary:The Controller oversees the financial activities for 2 operating companies with a network of manufacturing plants and warehouses in the U.S. The Controller reports directly to the Corporate Controller. The Controller will oversee a staff of 2-3 accountants and then eventually supervise the cash management staff of 6.Duties Include:- Support the delivery of Company's business and financial objectives
- Member of Financial leadership team; Work in concert with the other finance leaders to plan and deliver group objectives and actions
- Improve financial processes, procedures, and reporting systems; Maintain and protect Company assets; Ensure the integrity of operating company financial statements
- Plan, coordinate, and complete the monthly financial closing process and financial statements preparation according to target deadlines; The Company's goal is to close within 5 business days, leading to review of draft financial statements with Corporate Controller and CFO and then deliver financial review presentation to ownership on day 10; This includes inventory counts and reconciliations on day 1 of the close
- Support the annual external audit process which includes year end physical inventory and associated year-end financial statements and audit schedule preparation; The audit field work is done in February
- Work with operations management to help drive continuous improvement and cost reduction actions; Monitor operational metrics such as cost per case targets
- Ensure Operations receive their scorecards and cost per case summaries each month by day 15
- Provide controller leadership with business process improvement and ERP implementation project; Participate in cross-functional team projects as requested
- Oversee cash management - credit, accounts receivable, and accounts payable; Set working capital targets and monitor utilization of working capital assets
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; MBA preferred
- Professional accounting certification: CPA, CMA, or equivalent
- At least 10 years of progressive financial management and accounting roles; Preference for manager with division or plant controller experience
- ERP experience and proficiency, with a leading system (i.e. SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Expertise with US GAAP, financial reporting, plant accounting, as well as inventory counts and reconciliations
- Prior work experience with a manufacturing company is preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
