Summary:

This position will work collaboratively in a cross-discipline technical team of engineers and programmers in the development and implementation of automation control systems for all Tyson facilities. The position should be skilled in manufacturing automation design, integration, troubleshooting, engineering, programming, and consulting.

Requirements:

Education: A Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience.

Experience: At least 1 year of programming experience with an ability to program PLC, HMI and SCADA control systems.

Computer Skills: Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office and Visio; PLC and HMI Languages: Knowledge of one or more languages including Concept, Unity, RSLogix, ArchestrA, InTouch or Ignition.

Communication Skills: Average verbal and written communication skills.

Certification: Engineer-In-Training Certification is a plus, but not required.
Special Skills: Programming and design skills in PLC, HMI, SCADA, SPC and MES systems; general awareness in business areas within Tyson Foods; and beginning knowledge in the ANSI/ISA standards; background in reading electrical control schematics, developing sequence of operations and
converting into automation code.

Other Requirements: Ability to accomplish systems analysis tasks within a particular project or business unit; have general awareness of control systems design; be well versed in coding language to be able to complete coding requirements within project time constraints; capable of making
programming enhancements, troubleshooting and testing for existing applications and be willing to support installed control systems for emergency purposes outside of normal business hours.

Supervisory: None

Travel: 10+ trips per year; willing to travel to job site for start-up of control systems.
