RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client is a World Leader in Advancing Passive Fire Protection Technology. They are expanding and looking for a Cost Accountant. This person with maintain the Company standard costing system to value inventory, costs of goods sold, and production absorption. You will lead the general ledger closing process ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and timely. The Cost Accountant, you will support the Controller with year-end audit.Responsibilities:
  • Reconciles perpetual inventory to the GL weekly
  • Analyzes inventory reserves for slow moving and obsolescence.
  • Reviews recorded inventory transactions for scraps, cycle counts, production, and shop order variances weekly, ensuring that debit memos are issued for inventory sent to suppliers
  • Analyzes purchase price, material, and production variances to identify issues and exceptions to Company standard procedure
  • Analyzes manufacturing variances to identify issues and exceptions to Company standard procedure
  • Prepares and updates annual material standard costs and standard rates for direct labor and overhead
  • Rolls up standard costs for new and revised products per requests from the manufacturing engineering team
  • Performs monthly and yearly accounts reconciliation and analysis
  • Maintains inventory cycle counting records
  • Maintains fixed asset and associated depreciation schedule on FAS software system
  • Supports the audit process; Supports the Controller with budget process
  • Maintains accurate and complete records in accordance with the company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Enforces company policies and procedures
  • Ensures department is accident free
  • Ensures an orderly and clean department
  • Promotes teamwork throughout the department and company
  • Supports other departments in their informational needs
  • Communicates and coordinates with other departments to achieve total customer satisfaction and ensure effective communication within the department


REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Accounting
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of active experience with Oracle eBS or 5+ years active experience with Prof. ERP systems required
  • Strong, active computer skills - Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Pro
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Technical Accounting knowledge
  • Ability to perform well in a team environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to be accurate


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
