Job Responsibilities

The Custodial Evening Manager will supervise, organize, direct and instruct the evening janitorial staff in all cleaning methods, materials and equipment to ensure the proper and expected cleanliness of the college's buildings, facilities and campuses. This position is an evening shift position from 4:30 pm to 1 am and will have an expanding job load as the amount of responsibilities increase. Must have the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. This position is considered as essential personnel and is required to perform duties during/after severe weather and in other emergency situations.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma and custodial, groundskeeping or maintenance experience directly related to the area of employment. Preferred candidate will have an associate degree in a related field and two (2) years related work experience to include one (1) year in a supervisory capacity; or a high school diploma and four (4) years related work experience, to include two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

Janitorial supervisory experience in commercial/industrial facilities is highly preferred. Valid SC driver's license is also required. Ideal candidate will have the knowledge and ability to perform, teach, and instruct proper cleaning methods, use of materials and cleaning equipment for large commercial/industrial facilities; instruct and ensure the usage of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and lead a large group of general cleaners and floor technicians ensuring job duties are performed completely and to the highest standard of cleanliness. Must have the ability to work independently, be self-motivated, work well under pressure while meeting deadlines without supervision, and have a high degree of discretion when performing job duties, which is essential for the success of this position. Experience with budgeting, procurement, record keeping, and using MS Word/Excel is crucial.
