Eurofins Agroscience Services is searching for a Custodian in Easton, MD.

Custodian Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Sweep and mop rooms, corridors and waiting areas and clean and disinfect surfaces such as floors and counters

• Dust and polish furniture and make sure that all carpets and curtains are vacuumed or shampooed on a periodic basis

• Service, clean, and supply restrooms

• Empty trash receptacles and ensure that they are cleaned properly from the inside

• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees

• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors

• Make minor adjustments and repairs such as changing bulbs or repairing wires

• Restore building interiors using commercial cleaning equipment

• Move heavy furniture around to ensure that hard to reach placed are properly cleaned

• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties

• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems

• Monitor building security and perform lockdown procedures

• Clean parking areas and walkways and remove any hazardous materials and debris

• Remove snow from sidewalks and paring areas and erect warning signs to alert drivers of slippery surfaces

• Set up and remove decorations and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as meetings and banquets

• Help with shipping or warehouse staff as required

• Interface with construction contractors and sub-contractors as required to facilitate repairs.

The ideal candidate would possess :

• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

• Ability to lift 50 lbs

• Ability to operate hand-trucks and other material handling equipment

• Ability to read and interpret labels

• Must successfully complete any required training courses

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. Preferred employment dates: early May to late August/early September. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Easton, MD are encouraged to apply.
