Support the Toro Company's (TTC) business operations by supervising members of the Global Trade Compliance (GTC) team. Execute TTC's import and export processes in areas such as classification, valuation, country of origin determination, broker relationship management, sanctioned party list screening, and export license determination. Work cross-functionally with Toro team members around the globe to ensure compliance with U.S. and international import and export regulatory requirements.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervise the activities of GTC team members to ensure accurate and timely clearance of import and export shipments to include oversight over the centralized inbox
  • Analyze, research, assign, and update SAP with the appropriate Harmonized Tariff Schedule or Schedule B Number, ECCN and Country of Origin for all TTC materials and request rulings when appropriate
  • Administer and develop relationships with customs brokers, including research and response to broker inquiries while ensuring timely clearance of shipment
  • Administer duty mitigation programs
  • Document, review and update GTC policies and procedures as needed
  • Train, coach, and develop team members
  • Perform internal compliance audits, resolve identified issues, and perform corrective actions
  • Educate and train internal customers on importing and exporting requirements
  • Prepare, research, and distribute monthly reports
  • All other special projects and duties as assigned

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years international trade compliance with U.S. and other government regulatory agency requirements
  • If no degree - require 6+ years progressive experience in international trade compliance with knowledge of U.S. and other government regulatory agency requirements
  • 2+ years supervisory experience with direct reports required. Can include full time direct reports, interns and/or temporary employees
  • Ability and skill with multitasking in a fast paced and constantly changing regulatory environment
  • Proven ability to analyze situations and take effective and accurate actions
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage large workload and excel at prioritizing and organizing tasks
  • Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Lean in the office setting a plus
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Experience working within ACE (Automated Customs Environment) desired
  • Experience working with mechanical and electrical products desired
