The Cytotechnologist is responsible for screening, evaluating, and reporting findings on GYN and NON-GYN specimens submitted to detect presence of cancer and other abnormal pathologic conditions. Other duties will include attending FNAs and specimen processing.
This position reports to the Section Supervisor, Cytology and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor's degree required; relevant education transcripts required
• ASCP certification required. Cooley Dickinson Hospital incumbents hired into the Cytotechnologist position prior to September 1, 1994, who have full-time experience of at least 2 years or equivalent within the preceding 5 years examining slide preparations under the supervision of a physician qualified under 493.1449(b), may have the ASCP certification requirement waived
• Experience preferred but not required
