A national manufacturing & distribution company is looking for an experienced Data Entry Clerk to support them through their busy season.

The Data Entry Clerk will respond to client order inquiries via email, and some via phone. This position is responsible for confirming and entering all product information, pricing details, and shipping information for all new orders. In addition, this role assists with the processing of returns and/or exchanges. To be successful in this position, the Order Entry Clerk will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills while maintaining high quality & accurate work. This role works closely with the purchasing & inventory department on part availabilities and enters orders into the database for processing.

This is an onsite, full time contract, 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. This is a contract estimated to last for six to eight months.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processes orders, including order taking, order entry and order picking.
  • Prepares correspondence, and fulfills customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction, and order close out.
  • Works with shipping to support invoicing process and record keeping.
  • Ensure customer orders match approved customer specifications on file.
  • Coordinate customer return goods activity per internal procedures.
  • Initiate customer complaints into HRC complaint handling system, including acknowledgement back to customer.
  • Follow-up on overdue orders and returns and on purchase orders.
  • Operate in a LEAN manufacturing environment and strive to suggest process improvements.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    At least three years of previous customer service experience in manufacturing and/or distribution.Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and OutlookPrevious experience with AS400 or JD Edwards is highly preferred.Ability to type 50+ wpm or 10,000 kph with high accuracy.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve established outcomes.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully.
