LexisNexis Regulatory Compliance is an award-winning legal obligations register and alerting solution that combines regulatory content with technology to empower our customers to take control of compliance obligations. We use leading legal and industry experts from around the world to provide a practical, plain English interpretation of all the relevant legislative and regulatory materials.

About the Role:

The Director of Product and Content is considered the second in command to the VP in the UK / US markets and is responsible for ensuring that the solution is fit for purpose across multiple industries, jurisdictions and countries. This is achieved through in-depth investigation and gathering of technical and non-technical information, directly from customers in both pre and post-sales processes. They will create both a high-level strategy and outline detailed requirements to ensure financial and CX targets are met and will lead M&A activities for the region.

The Director is responsible for the management of the Regulatory Compliance functional areas of content development/management as well as identifying innovative product development opportunities for further growth. A key responsibility will be ensuring that customers receive an optimal experience of the content, regardless of single / multiple jurisdiction(s), industry(ies) or geography(ies).

The position also covers a wide range of activities to critically assess and support the expansion of Regulatory compliance including; environmental and competitor scanning, market sizing and market intelligence, business case development and execution, evaluation of investment opportunities, and the monitoring, development and assessment of M&A opportunities.

Accountabilities:

Create a Regulatory Compliance strategy including product, content and key initiatives:

  • Identfication and review of business cases, strategic projects and initiatives, new markets expansion
  • Working with Global Strategy and Global M&A, build M&A list
  • Working with the Business Analyst to provide economic updates, key country and industry reports, monitoring of key themes, regular reporting and synthesis of intelligence

Create a Customer Insights Program to inform solution roadmap and support financial targets through customer acquisition and retention

Working with Head of Marketing:
  • Ensure consistent approach across industries / jurisdictions Customer Advisory Boards, Customer Journey Mapping and Pulse Surveys.
  • Develop personas, use cases and stories for market problems and daily working environment based on regular engagement with customers
  • Identify opportunities and provide data for new modules / solution business cases
Development and deployment of content roadmap:
  • Identify content requirements to meet customer needs / sales targets including detailed plans on resourcing and costs
  • Ensuring Content Manager has close management of external stakeholders (writers, experts) and partners (REPH) to meet project milestones and deliver on quality outcomes

Responsibility of team P&L and financial planning

Lead and manage team/s to promote common vision, values and objectives; develop customer centric culture within the team/s

Performance management and employee development, including regular coaching and mentoring and delivering formal performance evaluations; recruitment and training new staff

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years product development / strategy / consultancy experience
  • Background in legal/regulatory compliance preferred
  • University law degree, MBA or equivalent
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Strong commercial/business acumen
  • Strong knowledge of the Regulatory Compliance marketplace
  • Demonstrated strong project management experience
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills
