Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Director, Projects and Programs to join us on our journey to enhance our services, programs and processes, by using project management skills and functional organizational knowledge. In this role, the successful individual will oversee high priority HR initiatives, teams' projects and everyday activities. Our ideal candidate has knowledge of HR process, HR technology, Office 365, and best practice knowledge to keep us on the cutting edge. From day one, you'll have an immediate impact on leading key strategic projects that will allow HR to provide enhanced programs and services while improving our overall operational process and day to day efficiency for our team, and ongoing impact on our overall growth.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including objectives, milestones, timelines, and governance protocols for HR initiatives using a variety of project management approaches and tools - identifying and bringing the right tool to each job to meet the needs of the project and the team.
  • Project Delivery: Monitor and track project execution to success by driving team milestone completion; identifying and removing process and operational roadblocks; owning and consulting solution development with stakeholders and escalating critical decisions to reach alignment.
  • Team Leadership: Partner with project team and sponsors to lead cross-functional HR project teams, ensuring clear communication, roles, and responsibilities are established.
  • Identify and Manage Resources: Establish project resource plans that balance speed of delivery, expertise needed, and the efficient allocation of resources. Coordinate project team members; assigning ownership and individual responsibilities.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Maintain clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status.
  • Foster Collaboration: Take initiative to establish partnerships and consult with key business stakeholders and HR team members to foster teamwork, collaboration, and learning within the HR team, contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Facilitate: Design and facilitate problem-solving activities to define problems, assess current state root causes, design, and test solutions, and implement solutions leading to desired outcomes tied to business results

  • Plan for Change: Develop and implement effective change management strategies to support a variety of HR projects with broad impact across the organization.
  • Leverage HR Knowledge: Apply your own broad knowledge of HR and include appropriate SMEs to lead team members in a manner that results in a cohesive and integrated solution.
  • Manage team projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution, ideation to implementation, to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Plan and oversee the preparation and dissemination of project communications and updates.
  • Assembling and coordinating project team members; assigning ownership and individual responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with team members, other partners, and leadership team to ensure we are delivering top-tier customer service by completing projects in a smooth a timely manner.
  • Anticipate details of future projects by communicating directly with customers and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news.
  • Create and communicate summary of active, ongoing projects for CHRO and leadership team on a regular basis.

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a BS degree in a business field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum five years project management experience, including development work and interactions with cross functional team and leadership.
  • Possession of excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to all audiences.

  • Conceptual understanding and expert knowledge of project management best practices and current technologies to plan and communicate effectively with project team and management.
  • Demonstrated experience with planning, directing, and administering projects in a business and/or technology environment, experience with Workday HRMS preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of communication, and project management tools such as MS Excel, Teams, Powerpoint, to create project documents and project status reports, deliverables and overall project communications.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to effectively work and communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Clear understanding and experience writing professional and detailed communications.
  • Team player with willingness and ability to roll up sleeves and dive deep.
  • This is a hybrid position based in our Zionsville, Indianapolis location with three days' work in office.
