DRAFTER - ENGINEER ASSOCIATE

Where will you work: Onsite at Mosaic's Carlsbad, NM site (PO Box 71 - 1361 Potash Mines Road - Carlsbad, NM 88220)

The Drafter- Engineer Associate will participate in the creation of project scoping documents, engineering specifications, arrangement and detailed drawings, construction management documents and purchasing specifications for engineering projects. Position may manage purchase of material for assigned projects and manage or participate in the management and field oversight of construction activities related to engineering projects. Candidate will be expected to spend approximately 30% of time in the field and 70% of time in the office per job requirements.

What you'll do?

• Create simple arrangement and detailed fabrication drawings for engineering projects which meet the appropriate standards and codes, under the direction of various engineers and designers. Coordinate design with various engineers if project complexity warrants.
• Maintain drawing filing system, both electronic and hard copy. Maintain the equipment folder structure and assist in creating new folders and placing vendor information in the appropriate folder.
• Issue drawing numbers to outside engineering firms and provide them with the appropriate drawing templates, font files, drafting standards, etc., to allow drawings from outside engineering firms to comply with Mosaic drafting standards. Serve as document control person for the exchange of drawings and other information with outside engineering firms.
• Print, scan, and copy documents for engineers and field crews as required for various projects. Participate in the creation of other fabrication/construction documents as required by various engineers.
• Participate in the creation of purchasing specifications. Assist various engineers with quoting and expediting material for assigned projects.

What you'll need:

• An associate degree in engineering or drafting is required.
• A minimum of five years of experience in engineering/drafting will be considered in lieu of education.
• Must exercise good communication skills and demonstrate a willingness to learn.
• Consideration must be given to safety, work environment, operational efficiency, maintenance and reliability.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and other CAD software is required.
• Familiarity with CADWorx preferred but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products is required.
