Job Description

The Educator Engagement Specialist position provides a unique opportunity. Use your inspiration and passion to conceive, develop, and promote digital learning and professional development experiences for preK-12 educators, students, and families. Please note that this is a fixed term position funded through December 31, 2023.

Key responsibilities include:
• Collaborate to develop and execute a strategic plan to enhance educator engagement including social media, newsletter, webinars, conferences, and professional development workshops;
• Plan and lead virtual and face to face professional development workshops for local and national audiences that highlight WNET's K-12 learning resources, with a focus on instructional content that supports New York State learning standards and curriculum frameworks;
• Create K-12 digital learning resources for PBS LearningMedia utilizing The WNET Group's award-winning national programs such as American Masters, Mission US and Great Performances along with original content produced by KME;
• Identify and cultivate partnership opportunities that expand Kids' Media and Education programs to key local and national audiences (e.g. NYC DOE, BOCES, local school districts, and other ed tech companies/ organizations);
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualified candidates will have experience in formal and informal education settings, including a minimum of three (3) years in a K-12 classroom. Additional qualifications include:
• Strong content knowledge in social studies/humanities;
• Experience designing and developing K-12 curriculum;
• Experience planning and leading professional development workshops for teachers;
• Excellent public speaking/presentation skills;
• Experience using social media to engage educators;
• Strong written, interpersonal, project management, and creative problem-solving skills;
• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.

The position requires onsite work at our offices at Worldwide Plaza, 825 Eighth Avenue, New York, NY, as well as in the tri-state area. Per WNET's vaccine mandate policy, the successful candidate must show proof that they are fully vaccinated under applicable guidelines.

Salary ranges are based on benchmarked nonprofit and industry related data provided by an outside consulting firm and are commensurate with skills and experience. The hiring salary range for this position is $58,500.00 - $65,000.00. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.
