Eurofins MET Laboratories is searching for an Electronic Technician in Union City, CA.

Eurofins MET Laboratories, Inc. is one of the Nation's leading laboratories for the testing and certification of electronic and electrical products. We are a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) and have been serving clients for over 50 years. Our Union City, CA location is currently seeking an entry level Electrical Engineer, a dedicated team player, who we can train to perform TELECOM testing.

Many Electrical Technician jobs involve sitting at a computer, entering design parameters into software, unrealistic timelines, and not as much fun as you have hoped for. This is not the case in the Eurofins MET TEL lab. Performing TEL testing at MET labs is like enjoying the most interesting, hands-on, laboratory experimentation parts of your college courses, every day.

Electronic Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Receive training on and perform conducted/radiated radio frequency (RF) emissions/susceptibility testing.

• Test a wide range of cutting edge electronic Information technology equipment and electrical smart meters

• Become an expert on electromagnetic phenomena, including RF, Surges, magnetic fields, and more.

• Assist lab manager/supervisor with related tasks.

The ideal candidate would possess :

• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills

• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

• Ability to work with minimal supervision

• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

• AA or BS, technical school, or equivalent work experience

• 1-2 years' experience in a related field

• Occasional evening/weekend overtime

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Union City, CA are encouraged to apply.
