Engineering Technician

Under the direction of the Manager: Process Engineering, the Engineering Technician will work to support the engineering staff in order to maintain operating efficiencies and quality throughout the process. Further, the Engineering Technician will work to maintain and improve Safety, Health and Environmental focuses in the department. The Engineering Technician will also execute a series of development and/or research tasks on specific projects. Continually develops and enhances skills and knowledge consistent with demands of position.

This role may include knowledge of sensitive information that would be considered proprietary or classified as "trade-secret," disclosure of which could adversely impact internal and external relations.

You Will Have the Opportunity to:

  • Monitor processes. Investigate and solve in-line quality issues
  • Provide primary assistance to Engineers and Supervisors in project plan implementation, data collection, testing, data analysis and data entry
  • Generate reports in areas such as quality and production
  • Provide primary trouble-shooting support for operating personnel to maintain productivity and quality
  • Provide training to new operators
  • May act in customer and vendor facing roles
  • Travel may be required, up to 20%
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Graduate
  • Minimum of Associates Degree in a technical field (Engineering, Math or Science) or equivalent manufacturing experience (5 years minimum).
  • Relevant job experience
  • Experience in mechanical testing
  • EH&S Experience
  • Basic SPC
  • PC Literacy (MS Office Suite, SAP, Visio, Minitab, etc.)
  • Good Writing Skills

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
