Main Purpose

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and managing various environmental compliance programs for Tradebe's EHS Team and operational facilities. This individual will be involved with the overall management and oversight for our environmental auditing programs and environmental management systems. The ideal candidate will have compliance experience in the environmental services or similar industry and knowledge of RCRA compliance, permitting, and auditing.

Key job responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining Non-Owned Disposal Facility (NOD) audit, review and approval program and facility inventory list
  • Conducting online and in-person compliance assessments and audits of Non-Owned Disposal Facility (NOD) to ensure risk-minimization for Tradebe
  • Maintaining and developing environmental management systems (EMS) for environmental and health and safety KPI's, incident reviews, observation tracking, compliance audits and assessments
  • Analyzing and evaluating opportunities to expand the use of our EMS
  • Assisting with the coordination and recordkeeping of our incident review process
  • Assisting Environmental Compliance Managers with all Federal, State, and Local Environmental Permits, including but not limited to a RCRA Part B, Storm Water, Air Permit, and 10-Day Transfer Permits
  • Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of Federal, State, and Local compliance reports, fees and certifications for Environmental Permits
  • Development and implementation of environmental policies and programs
  • Develop/conduct/participate in internal compliance audit and assessments
  • Develop/participate Standard Operating Procedures for compliance with environmental permits
  • Maintain facility audit packages
  • Maintain facility compliance histories
  • Complete customer compliance questionnaires

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Environmental Science degree is preferred
  • Four or more years of direct environmental experience in waste management, refining or chemicals are required
  • Physical ability to work in an industrial plant setting and travel to audit third-party industrial and hazardous waste disposal facilities.
  • Ability to travel periodically.
  • Must have strong verbal and written skills along computer skills using Microsoft Word
  • Five to seven years of direct RCRA permitting/compliance/auditing experience.
  • Five to seven years of environmental management systems experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or consulting environment through previous work, co-op, or internship
  • Ability to be flexible and manage change.
  • Ability to organize and work self-sufficiently given direction and resources
  • Interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside the company (regulatory agencies, contractors, consultants), are required.
  • Previous experience with SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint are desirable.
