Kforce has a client that is seeking an Expense Accountant in Tampa, FL.Key Tasks:
  • Expense Accountant reviews and/or prepares journal entries and accounting classifications in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Responsible for the expense function month end close for multiple markets
  • Reconcile and maintain prepaid and accrual accounts
  • Review and/or prepare clear, organized account analysis of all assigned balance sheet accounts emphasis on various expense and prepaid accounts
  • Participate in monthly financial reviews and provide explanations monthly fluctuations and inquiries related to expenses for multiple markets
  • Continuously improve and refine processes and procedures that can scale effectively as we grow to increase efficiency and quality of the team's deliverables
  • Drive strong internal controls to ensure compliance of all financial reporting requirements and maintain proper internal control documentation
  • As an Expense Accountant, you will ensure accounting policy memos and supporting schedules are properly analyzed and documented
  • Support the external audit annual report and monthly internal reporting by timely submission of PBC schedules and responses to inquiries
  • Serve as the functional expert in understanding the business and underlying systems and processes for your assigned expense accounting areas
  • Perform ad-hoc/special projects and analysis as required


  • Strong Excel
  • To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
  • Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
