Job Description:

Asahi Kasei Bioprocess (AKB) provides pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturers with a comprehensive suite of tools to maximize safety and improve yields of biotherapeutics during research, clinical and commercial-scale production. PlanovaTM virus-removal filters anchor a diverse product portfolio defined by quality, consistency and scalability. Additional areas of expertise include liquid chromatography, inline buffer dilution and oligonucleotide synthesis.

Position Summary:

We are currently looking for a Finance Intern to join our team at Asahi Kasei Bioprocess! The person in this role will be responsible for the timely entry and payment of vendor invoices, timely entry and payment of employee expenses, and other projects as assigned. The position reports to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts
  • Enter job cost budgets for Budget vs Actual analysis
  • Investigate questionable data and recommend actions to resolve discrepancies
  • Enter approved invoices into ERP system (MS-NAV), ensuring accurate account coding and divisional/departmental allocations
  • Review employee expenses reports for accuracy
  • Scheduling invoice payments staying within terms and according to policy
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve A/P issues by working with other departments and the vendor
  • Assist in the preparation customer invoices
  • Track aging and make collection calls as needed
  • Apply customer payments to appropriate account
  • File/scan documents on as-needed basis
  • Special projects and other duties as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting required
  • 0-4 years' experience performing accounting work
  • Exceptional integrity, professionalism, detail-orientation, and organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
  • Occasional overtime may be required (quarter or year-end closing, audits, etc.)
