Salary: $85,000.00 USD Annually - $100,000.00 USD Annually
Description: Our client is currently seeking a FSQA Manager to provide technical quality & food safety leadership & expertise for their plant's products & manufacturing facility. This position requires close interaction with outside vendors, corporate FSQ, and the plant's day-to-day operations employees. The principle responsibility is to assure that the Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS) is fully implemented and functional and that the facility and products meet safety and food regulatory requirements. The responsibility also encompasses assuring quality awareness as well as continuous improvement programs are in place to assure overall quality progress.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead HACCP system (Food Safety Plan), regulatory audits, quality systems review process (QSR), standard operating procedures (SOP's), incoming ingredient inspections, food safety audits, field complaints, etc.
  • Develop and execute Plans to achieve/maintain SQF Certification at the facility and to meet all company requirements related to quality and food safety programs.
  • Oversee plant compliance, interactions, and relationship with SQF Certification Body and consultants.
  • Train personnel and maintain all training records on critical food safety and quality requirements.
  • Oversee monitoring, verification, and validation activities to ensure that all products leaving the facility meet the facility Food Safety and Quality Plans.
  • Manage and provide leadership in implementing an effective and efficient documented corrective action program.
  • Manage/ Oversee pest control contract and microbiological testing to assure compliance with SQF and Quality standards.
  • Reassess Quality and Safety Food plan(s) throughout the change management process which is required whenever there is a change to program, process, procedure, ingredient, equipment, industry philosophy, technology, etc.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of food processing experience under USDA and HACCP Standards
  • Demonstrated leadership in the areas of food safety and plant regulatory affairs.
  • HACCP Certification / Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) Certification.
  • Auditing experience in quality or food safety management systems, including internal / external auditing for compliance.
  • Experience with FDA and/or USDA Rules and Regulations.
