Description

Better Future Farms (BFF) is seeking a talented and passionate Grower to join our team. As a leader in the controlled environment agriculture (CEA) industry, BFF is dedicated to providing sustainable, high-quality produce to our customers year-round. As a Grower at BFF, you will play a critical role in the cultivation and management of our greenhouse lettuce crops.

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health and growth of our plants. This includes tasks such as seeding, transplanting, watering, fertilizing, and IPM. You will also be responsible for collecting and analyzing data related to plant health and growth, and making adjustments to optimize yield and quality. Additionally, you will work closely with the Head Grower and other team members to ensure efficient operations and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about plants, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing high-quality crops. You should have a strong understanding of greenhouse environment management, plant physiology, and pest and disease management. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Grower or similar role in greenhouse operations
• Knowledge of greenhouse environment management, including climate control, irrigation, and fertigation, and semi-closed greenhouses
• Strong understanding of plant physiology, pest and disease management, and crop nutrition
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals
• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time
• Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field is preferred
