Role: Mechanic


Our mechanics are key to ensuring our clients’ needs are met by keeping all our equipment in safe working condition. Through a focus on detail and safety, our mechanics expertly diagnose, repair, and maintain our dynamic crane fleet that includes crawlers, all-terrain, rough terrain, boom trucks, etc. Our crew works on a variety of manufacturers, including Manitowoc, Liebherr, Terex, and Link-Belt, and must have experience with electrical and hydraulic heavy equipment with cranes being highly desirable. To deliver on our commitment to doing whatever it takes to help get the job done safely and on time, our mechanics need to be able to work out in the field in a variety of weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

* Operates and inspects cranes to diagnose defects.
* Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
* Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications.
* Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications and Core Competencies

* 3+ years of experience as a Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician
* Safety-first mindset: conducts self in a manner consistent with safety requirements and regulations and will bring potential safety concerns to their supervisor.
* Demonstrated working knowledge of CANBUS, crane, and LMI systems.
* Proficient in reading and understanding operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
* Comfortable with a constantly changing work environment and can adapt to changes in
* Self-starter and motivated; capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.
* Appetite to learn and improve technical skill set
* Accurately completely various documents and reports, including working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews, work orders, and expense reports.
* Demonstrated teamwork attitude and communication skills.
* Ability to work overtime as well as on weekends. Travel is required periodically for multiple-day intervals. Our technicians work 40 to 80 hours a week depending on the number of active jobs equipment is out on and equipment needs.
* Must be able to travel on short notice for overnight and/or several days depending on the circumstances.
* Be on-call nights and weekends as needed based on the crane schedule.
* Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record, CDL a plus.
