Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities include safely operating material handlers to unload and load prepared and unprepared scrap metal from various sources of supply. This person must have the ability to interact and service internal and external customers with a polite, positive representative of a General Recycling Teammate.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

- Heavy equipment operator experience

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively in a team environment, and be a proven leader
- Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office
- Dedication to continuous improvement within the department including safety and housekeeping
- Commitment to self-improvement, cost reduction, product quality, and customer service excellence

- High mechanical aptitude
