Description: Our client is currently seeking a Histotechnician

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Job Summary: Join our dynamic team as a Histotechnician and play a crucial role in our state-of-the-art laboratory. As a Histotechnician, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of histology duties, including embedding, cutting, staining, cover slipping, microtomy, and efficient case management of daily slides. This role also involves executing special stains and immunohistochemistry procedures as directed.

Major Responsibilities:

• Embed various tissue types with precision
• Skillfully section paraffin-embedded tissue
• Adhere to established protocols and procedures for embedding and microtomy
• Maintain a clean and organized embedding area, microtome, and workstation; uphold proper Quality Control (QC) measures
• Ensure the availability of fresh solutions, stains, and reagents
• Perform special stains and immunohistochemistry procedures under guidance
• Contribute to case assembly and distribution as needed
• File blocks and slides accurately
• Safely handle and dispose of hazardous waste
• Adhere to laboratory safety precautions and strictly follow procedure manuals
• Execute all job responsibilities in accordance with industry-leading security practices and regulatory guidelines to safeguard sensitive health information and company data
• Familiarity with and adherence to the Corporate Compliance Program and all relevant policies, including Privacy and Security policies

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Associate degree or equivalent technical college two-year certificate, or relevant experience and training
• ASCP Certification
• Open to both experienced technicians and new graduates
