PCSI is looking for a Housekeeping Inspector to support the Environmental Services team at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital!

The Housekeeping Inspector assists the Quality Control Manager or Project Manager with ensuring site-specific quality control and safety standards are met to in compliance with the contract specifications. This position is responsible for performing inspections and audits based on established quality control processes. The Housekeeping Inspector also conducts safety inspections, reports and resolves any compliance issues, and handles document control of Standard Operating Procedures and other quality documents.

We're especially looking for candidates with some experience training or supervising others, preferably in an environmental services role, and a high level of attention to detail. This position reports to the Quality Control Manager and is based in Fort Belvoir, VA. Typical hours for this position are Mon-Fri 2:00pm-10:30pm.

Benefits Include:

  • Base pay of $25.00-26.00/hr depending upon experience.
  • Annual bonus of up to 6%.
  • 21 days of PTO per year, in addition to all federal holidays.

What You'll Do as a Housekeeping Inspector:
  • Follow the site-developed Quality Control Plan (QCP) in carrying out duties and responsibilities to ensure contract requirements are being fulfilled, as directed by the site Quality Control Manager (QCM).
  • Conduct and document process and system inspections and/or audits using written procedures as audit standards.
  • Perform In-Process inspections on work being conducted to ensure processes are being followed.
  • Perform Re-work inspections to validate corrections to non-conformances have been rectified.
  • Perform Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL) inspection in accordance with the contract.
  • Perform Administrative inspections in accordance with the contract.
  • Under the direction of the QCM, perform contract specific Safety inspections.
  • Under the direction of the QCM, assist with configuration control of all quality related documents to include Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions and forms.
  • Report any instances of non-compliance with contractual or statutory/regulatory compliance issues to the QCM and/or Project Manager (PM), and work to resolve issues expeditiously.
  • Provide additional support, as directed by the QCM.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:
  • High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred.
  • Experience working in Environmental Services strongly preferred.
  • 2 years of experience as trainer or supervisor.
  • ISO Auditor training preferred.
  • CHEST certification preferred, or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
  • Experience in an environment that includes workers with disabilities preferred.
  • Government contract experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written format.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to manage established policies from the QCM.
  • Knowledge of web-based inspection systems.

Other Requirements:
  • Prolonged standing, walking (up to 90% during working hours), bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 40 pounds and ability to push carts up to appx 100 lbs.
  • Some stooping and crawling to perform inspections under carts, behind cabinets, etc.
  • Ascending/descending stairs required
  • Possess valid driver's license and maintain clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass criminal and financial background checks to obtain access to work locations. Restrictions vary from site to site.
