Department

ESKENAZI SCHOOL OF ART ARCH + (BL-SOAD-IUBLA)

Department Information

The Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design houses fourteen different areas in art, architecture, design, and merchandising. Our students are encouraged to learn collaboratively and across-disciplines, while immersing themselves in a particular area of study. Additionally, the school's positioning as part of the College of Arts and Sciences allows us to equip graduates with the insights and values of a classical liberal arts education.

Established in August of 2016, the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design merged together the departments of studio art and apparel merchandising and interior design. The school's formation represents key elements of IU's Bicentennial Strategic Plan-specifically its stated commitments to student success, building a prosperous and innovative Indiana, and moving toward a culture of building and making.

The College values diversity, equity, and inclusion as a core strength and essential element in the success of its educational mission. For the full diversity statement, click here or go to our department's Diversity in the College of Arts + Sciences website.
