Primary Responsibility / Summary

Goodwill Southern California is seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist. The Specialist supports all facets of recruitment and onboarding of employees. The Specialist will also deliver in-house and online training programs and provide customized training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Develops a recruiting and interviewing strategy for requisitions within assigned territory.
• Sources potential candidates via applicant tracking system, job boards, contact lists, employee referrals, internal applicants and various online databases.  
• Screens, Interviews and tests applicants for hire, make recommendations to hiring managers; maintains an active pipeline of candidates by building relationships with diverse applicant resources.
• Creates and extends offers of employment (internal and external).
• Completes on-boarding process for new hires; review profiles for accuracy.
• Ensures that all pre-employment screening and testing requirements are met according to Goodwill Southern California policy.
• Coordinates and facilitates New Hire Orientation; ensures new hire on-boarding in alignment with organization strategic initiatives and goals.
• Coordinates and participates in employment events such as job fairs, open houses, campus recruiting events, etc.
• Assists in maintaining organizational use of training technology and software, assigns appropriate training modules to achieve employees' development plans.
• Develops, coordinates and conducts training and follow-up visits as needed at remote locations.
• Establishes and maintains strong cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders and business partners.
• Prepares reports and assists in maintaining training log and schedules.
• Provides Learning Management System (LMS) support to users.
• Supports talent focused activities, including but not limited to talent reviews, succession planning, performance reviews and assist with respective reporting and data collection.
• Applies innovative thinking and creates solutions reflecting internal customer, departmental and organizational needs. Researches new training techniques and suggests enhancements to existing training and talent development programs.
• This position requires some local travel (about 25% to 50% of the time) a valid CA driver's license and state-required auto insurance are necessary. Driving record must be acceptable by the Company's insurance vendor.

Education & Experience

• 2 or more years of recruitment experience.
• Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university preferred.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Ability to work with all levels of employees, the general public and individuals with disabilities.
• Shift flexibility and overtime when needed.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• PC proficient, familiar with HRIS and applicant tracking system helpful.
